S&W Model 69-2??
Hey guys my friend just picked up a s&w model 69-2 .357Mag w/ a 6" barrel (I think it was 6") and it is mint. He says it is some kind of experimental revolver made from the late 1970's to 1983 I think he said. Is this correct, and would it be something that should probably be put up and not shot? Thanks!

There was an experimental model 69. I have never seen one. Can you post photos of this animal? Kyle

It is unlikely to be a model 69, as it is listed in the standard reference with the detailed description "Experimental".
It may be a model 66-2 with a badly stamped second "6". Photos here would be very helpful.

You would think that before S&W made a 69-2 there would have been a model 69 and a 69-1.
