Ahrends grip choices
I am wanting to replace my stock grips on my 25-5 .45 Colt and am trying to decide between the Ahrends Retro Combat grips or the Square Butt finger groove grips. Has anyone tried both and which do you like the best? I am leaning toward the Retro at the moment. Also is there any market in selling the stock grips?

My favorite Ahrends grips are their Tactical models. They are the retro-combat without the finger grooves. I have large, but not huge hands and find the finger grooves on all Ahrends stocks to be a tad narrow.
If your stock grips are wood, people here on the forum will buy them in the classified section. The rubber grips are a bit hard to sell, though I have sold several pairs of less common rubber grips in the classifieds.
Here is a set of Ahrends' Tactical grips on my Model 520 square butt. They feel as good as they look.

Im with steam, got the same style on my 581, and I find them to be very comfortable. I did round the front edge some, however.

These round butt Ahrends on this L-comp may not exactly fit you SB criteria, but they shoot like a dream.

Ahrends are fine grips, but if you can afford them, Kurac grips are much better.

I own several sets of Ahrends grips and recommend you buy both sets of the Ahrends grips you mention. Try them and see which you prefer and you can always sell the ones you like least. I'll say I haven't found a set of Ahrends grips yet that I don't like.

Those look great. If you look closer, they are TACTICALs not RETROs.

Oh... MY... I REALLY like the look of that. I may have to start hunting me a 6" 15-8....
Here is a very slightly reshaped set of Retro Targets on a 3" 29.

While I am trying to determine which Ahrends grips to buy, I stumbled upon these Hogue seconds in Goncalo Alves and liked the intersesting figure so they will soon be attached to the .45 : https://www.hogueauction.com

I, too, like Ahrends grips very much. They do fine work - for a quite reasonable price. The only thing I DON'T like about Ahrends is the time required to get them. EIGHT weeks plus, for the last set.
