Default Info on model 60 no dash 38 spl

I recently purchase a model 60 38 spl snub nose for my father to use. (recently burgularized) and was wondering about model number markings. Gun is in 95% condition, but above the model number is a marking N Y-1

This is one of the NYPD contract guns from the late 1980s. It was produced with a DAO trigger but many that made it out to the civilian market were converted to SA/DA. They were not available for purchase or authorized for carry for very long and are collectible. Please see this thread:

If it is in good condition, pretty much any model 60 is worth $350, so yes. Are you able to post a photo?
