New ivories for the 27-2
I finally got around to installing these ivories I picked up recently for a great price ($350). They are made by Ajax and have a slight yellow hue to them. They are really nice, my first ivory grips. Their is just something to the feel of them that makes them special, it is hard to describe. they are my first pair of ivory grips, I wish to swing a set of targets some day.

I hear ya! Last year I had Dan Chesiak make me up two matching sets of Ivories for the two Colt SAA Revolvers I have. They are just sooooooo pretty!!!
One suggestion though if I may..........
get a Glossy Black Tyler T Grip and it will look a little better. In the photo it looks to be raw aluminum. I just hate to detract from the BEAUTIFUL gun grips.

It's one man's opinion only, but I would lose the T-grip entirely. Those ivories are beautiful, T-grips=Butt-ugly!

Beautiful grips !! I think the T-Grip detracts from them also.

Very nice. I like T-grips but agree it detracts in this case. Also, T-grips can mar grips (you'll notice lots of sets of wood stocks are creased where a T-grip contacts the wood), something you don't want happening to that ivory. It may be best to remove it, not only due to appearance.

Beautiful grips, just beautiful. I would lose the T-grip. It adds nothing, and in my opinion detracts from those beautiful ivories.

Finding ivories for anything other than the SAA or 1911 is difficult. I have two K frames with ivories and one Colt Official Police. No N frames, unfortunately.

S4L,
Those are as good as it gets!
Just hard to beat Ivory for the all around...
An elegant look for special occasions and tough enough for billiard balls and everyday carry.
Su Amigo,
Dave

LOVE the grips and the 27! Perfect match!
T-Grips never were my favorite grip modification. Back in the old days, we thought of them more as a "poor man's" solution to changing the grip vs. full-on targets. They've got their own following, I guess.

Fine looking setup you have there. As to the grip adaptor, they sometimes make a grip much more comfortable to me, and look kinda good on some gun/grip combos, but not all. Does anyone have photos of a Smith with ivory grips and an ivory grip adaptor? I have discussed possibilities with my local ivory guy, but have never seen one and he hasn't either.

Haven't seen one in Ivory, or even white, I don't believe.
Should have added that in the old days, the fancy finger-grooves and such were more expensive than many could afford, if you even knew where to find them. And going to S&W targets didn't work for everyone, either. There was always rubber, but that had (and still has) "image" problems...
