To find a M12 in that condition is a real find. All too often the finish, which is susceptible to wear, is nearly gone. Congrats!

Model 12's are a great addition to anyones collection. And the 4 inch RB is one of my all time favorites, very concealable, light weight and accurate.

This one was found by the wife last fall at a yard sale....
The elderly woman owner could not take it with her, moving into a assisted living center.

Can anyone offer an opinion of value on a Mdl 12 just like this one LNIB with tools and paperwork? I picked one up a while ago and its currently living in the safe. Looks to be unfired. Thanks

Congrats on a great find, the RB 4" is not often seen. My opinion about M12's is the 4" SB is most commonly found, followed by the 2" SB, then the 2" RB, then the 4" RB. There are a very few 3" M12's out there, but Smithnut probably has most of them. For some reason I don't understand, the ratio on M12's and M10's in the 2" is reversed: the majority of M10's in 2" are RB, but the majority of M12' in 2" are SB.

Recoil with that light revolver is a bit sharp...but it's unbeatable for a concealed carry firearm. (carry a lot, shoot seldom, as Jeff Cooper once said)

Mine looks in similar condition to yours.

In SE Florida the Blue/Black 2" SB's seem to be the most common configuration,

The Airweight M&P is more of a CCW gun but since the black finish is not very durable the Nickel RB snub is my favorite.

I'd have to go back and look but I think I paid about $500.00 for this one, a 12-2 not too long ago. I've never seen another one, so I can't say what they "normally" go for. I'm not even sure now what papers were in the box, other than the brown anti-rust paper.



It had been fired but not a lot. I liked it so much I said to heck with any collector value and started carrying it. Really good for that, and shoots like great.. I told my wife yesterday I noticed the grips were starting to show some wear from being carried. Oh well. My kids can worry about it when I'm dead and gone.

I posted a reply earlier, but could not load any pics. I have a 4" and a 2". The 2" is my wife's so do not say anything bad about the stocks. She loves them. Here is a pic of mine..well at least one of them is mine.

Awesome buy, I'd love a 4" model!!

I bought the only one I have ever seen in person, a nickel 2" barrel. I got it with box, manual, warranty card, S&W knife and ammo adds, bore brush and original grips. Its a great carry gun
