I am very fond of my Model 63 6 shot/22. Hardly a defense gun but something to drop in the pocket when walking the dog. What is the largest calibre that can be stuffed into a 6 shot J-frame? I believe the Model 30/31 were 6-shots in 32 long. Was there anything more powerful than the 32S&W long? Yes I know, 'Buy a K-frame'. Logic has nothing to do with collecting.

6 shot in .32 , 5 shot in .38.

I like the 632 - 6 shots of .327 Federal Magnum and it's cousins... The .32 H&R Magnum, .32 S&W Long,.32 S&W, what's not to like.

The model 631, 631 Lady Smith, and model 632 Airweight Centennial chambered in .32 H&R Magnum were produced for a couple of years in the early 90's. The current production model 632 is chambered in .327 Federal.

Also, the blued steel vesions - the Model 431 (exposed hammer) and Model 432PD (Centennial - styled - no exposed hammer) are chambered in .32 H&R Magnum, and are 6-shot J-frames. My 432 was my first J-frame. Neither the 431 or 432 are currently in production, but appear occasionally on the used gun markets.

The J-Frame Model 640 in .357 Magnum I believe to be the largest caliber available. Five shots.

The OP asked what is the largest caliber 6 shot J frame, the 640 is 5 shots.
