Factory letter Model 29 no dash
I got my factory letter back for the Model 29 no dash yesterday. It wasn't as exciting as the one from my model 36 no dash...
Model 36 no dash Factory Letter score?
but it does complete the collector's package. It shipped March 1962 to the Edward K Tryon Co, in Philadelphia. From other posts that looks like it was probably a distributor that is no longer in business. I may use the SWHF to research this some more to see if anything interesting pops up.

Well the letter may not contain a lot of exciting info but that other picture gets my heart pumping.

Very nice! That's my birthyear, so I'd be interested in buying it if you ever grow tired of it.
I think that gun shipped to a mobster and the FBI is looking for it. I'd dump it quick if I was you.

Nice 29! I believe at the present time the SWHF only has records digitized through the 1930 decade, but keep those dues and donations coming and they may get to the '60s eventually .

Hi Mike,
Your Revolver shipped to the Edward K. Tryon Co. just a few short months before they closed their doors in the Fall of 1962 after 151 Years of Continuous Business!! On a side note, the E.K.Tryon Co. was Est. in 1811 & is supposedly the Oldest Family-Owned Sporting Goods Establishment known to have existed in the U.S. up until the time of their closing...maybe even until today, but I can't confirm that with any certainty!! They were bought out by Banner Industries of St. Louis who continued to market some of their products under the Tryon Label for a few short years later when the Tryon Name disappeared forever!!

Thanks for the info masterpiece. See when it comes to a S&W .44 magnum's even seemingly insignificant data gets amplified. YI just love the N frame .44 magnum mystique. And the .44 magnum as a weapon/ sport gun too

Model 29's. Their allure is most definitely infectious. The letter will add to your collector's package more and more as the years go by.
Congratulations.
