The 648, a stainless version of the 48. The Model 51, blued, and the stainless 650 and 651, all are J frame kit guns. The 650 has fixed sights and the 651 has adjustable, I think they are all 4" barrels (but I am not positive). Some of these have 2 cylinders, 1 for .22LR. Then the 351PD, an "Airlite" 7 shot revolver with a 1 7/8ths barrel. I think that is all of them.

One more would be the 351C Airlite Centenial....hammerless design like the Model 42.

IIRC the 351PD was based on the Model 37 Chiefs Special Airweight with aluminum frame, exposed but bobbed hammer and IL.

I've owned all of them except the 351s and 648...a 351C is on my "one day" list as it doesn't have the IL... A friend may have one for sale shorty...

What about the real .22 Magnum, the Model 53? .22 Remington Jet, also known as the .22 Remington Center Fire Magnum. Made '61 to '74 in 4", 6", 8 3/8". An absolutely awesome revolver.

So, if I was looking for one with a 6" barrel the Model 48 would be about it except for the Model 53? The Model 53 is interesting and will be on the lookout for one. Regarding the Model 48, did any of them have pinned barrels?

Pictures soon, currently on the road. The 53 has to be one of the best looking K frames I have ever seen. Ramp front sight even on the longer barrel lengths, target diamond stocks, shrouded ejector rod, .22 Magnum spelled out on barrel; all characteristics of the 53. Not to mention a cylinder with big holes on one end and small holes on the other.

Just to clarify, because some may misread your post: the model 48, 53 and 648 are both K frames, the 51, 650 and 651 are J frames. There were no L or N frame 22's, magnum or otherwise.

Yep. I had a pinned many years ago. It was 6" and shot well. It would bind after firing only a few rounds due to powder fouling. Bought it NIB but foolishly sold due to the small cylinder gap. That's such an easy fix but at the time I didn't know.

Just wondering does the 8-3/8" demand a premium price? I've got a LNIB 48-3 with the long barrel and was wondering about its worth. Not that I am going to sell it though. Purely informational.

It seems like lately that the long tube guns are the lowest priced of the bunch, but even with that I would think you could get $600+ for your gun. Helps if you have box, docs, etc.

51...with extra .22 Long Rifle cylinder...

48 4" wearing 50s vintage stocks and hammer along with a smooth Combat wide trigger. It had a Long Rifle cylinder with it that was unfired...

48 8 3/8...also with LR cylinder....

Love the .22 Mags!!!
