Default Only have a couple 34s

Don't recall that this has been done.
I have a two and a four incher:

This two-inch gun was the real surprise.
Heavier that one would imagine and surprisingly accurate, too.

And this one has the nicest stocks I've ever seen on a J-frame

Default Heres a few pre model number ancestors....

An early 2" circa 1953 with ooriginal box. Not really a 34, but a Pre model.

Serrial on this 4" gun shows it was the 90th maufactured in that run. #191.

Don't have any shots of any of my M-34's Sorry.

I'll ad a nickel one to the mix. First Smith I owned, and still have it.

Default jsalas

Here's another nickel one. Picked this one up at my local range, they had just put in the shelf when I came in. Just finished polishing with Maas as per the recommendations of the forum members. Came out beautiful. Not really good at pictures, but here they are. Its a 76-77 model.

Recent acquisition Model 34-1, 4" pinned barrel, nickel, 1969-70 vintage I believe. Have original grips.Owner had it stashed under his truck seat for years, I think it cleaned up pretty nice. Added walnut Badger grips.

Bought this one in the late 70s --- It's been carried a zillion miles on all manner of conveyances. It's taken a big variety of the small game animals in the NW; and lots of Grouse.

Here's a Model 34-no dash.

It's actually overstamped. The frame was originally stamped "36", then the 6 was overstamped with a 4. Looks like somebody got confused!

Nothing like resurrecting a three-year-old thread!

But, what the heck. I'll play.

Even though the OP said "Model 34" these two bracket that era. The 2" gun is a non-model-marked .22/32 Kit Gun that left the factory in February, 1958 (just before the Model 34 first appeared). The 4" gun is a Model 34-1 from 1981.

I have owned both a 2" and 4". Sadly the 2" was the only smith I have ever owned which did not shoot very well at all. Would like to give another 2" another chance - they are escalating quickly in price sadly

They are grand little revolvers. It took me years to even find one for sale. The previous owner allowed something, probably blood, to drip on to the grip frame. I know, some people shouldn't own fine firearms. The Herret grips make this a perfect fit for my hands.

Dave

Beautiful guns! I have 6 of those little rascals...2" blue/nickel/stainless(63) and 4" blue/nickel/stainless(63). I have smooth(banana) style grips on the 2" guns and checkered target goncalo alves on the 4" guns. I also have smooth target grips for the 4" guns. I enjoy them all. The 2" guns can be amazingly accurate from a good rest.

[QUOTE=Mike, SC Hunter;138634018]Beautiful guns! I have 6 of those little rascals...QUOTE]

Well, that's just not fair.
Why should you have six, and some of
us don't have any? There is something
wrong with a society when there is such
an unequal distribution of wealth. How
can you live with yourself? The only remedy
I can see is confiscation and re-distribution!
Spread the wealth around! I volunteer to be
in charge of seeing that these little beauties
go to poor but deserving S&W aficionados.
I'll let someone else be in charge of the
actual confiscation. You can keep two.

It may be a three year old thread but I just got mine a year ago! Here's mine a stock four inch nickeled dash one.

Pre-model 34. Inherited from my dad, who was a southpaw. I have left-handed target grips and two left handed holsters that he made for it. I have the original box and diamond grips - wearing Hogue's now...

Adios,

Pizza Bob
