Smile Model 14-4 Rescue

I stopped by my friend's gun shop in Kelso, WA today on my way to Portland, OR and found a lonsome M 14-4 six-inch in the case needing a home. It looks like it took a tumble onto the pavement and has a bit of holster wear in the usual places. It locks up tight as a bank vault though with no end shake issues. SN range is 90K. I figured at $329.00 I couldn't go wrong. It's on lay-away and should be home with me in a few weeks. I'll post pic's when I get it home.

Sounds like a deal to me. Here in my area, even fair Model 14s are bringing $450+ and if you don't buy it when you see it, it's gone the next day.

Great thing about my friend, he knows what a firearm is worth and gives a fella a good deal, but doesn't get hurt. He knows I like older Smith's and takes them in knowing I'll be in sooner or later to take them off his hands. I've scored a couple of .38 M&P's (a two-inch and a five-inch) from him in the past for reasonable prices, as well as a nice Model 586. The Model 14 is an especially good deal I think. Looks like a good honest "working gun". Life is good
