Good Day In Bedrock
My son shipped me back my Model 67 no dash made in 1971 and it didn't show up for 13 days and we were getting ready to go to the police and report it stolen. My FFL called me this morning and said it had arrived so I went over and picked it up. It was shipped Priority Mail and it took 13 days so go figure. So anyway it's back where it belongs and I'm a happy man again. I have the box, paperwork, and tools for it also which I brought home with me when I visited him a couple of months ago.

Whew, she's a beauty and I'm glad she found her way home. I would have been sweating CTG's after that long.

Beautiful gun, I had one but foolishly traded it. May have to start looking for another after seeing yours. I like the target grips on it.
Our USPS at its finest, glad you finally got it and didn't have to deal with the hassle of a claim.

fyimo,
Spencer Tracy would agree that sending USPS Priority Mail is risky business, it probably did make a whistle stop in Black Rock. I have received two packages recently (priority mail boxes) that showed clear signs someone had dug their fingernails into the flaps and looked inside (taping the ends reduces the chances of this type of behavior from occurring ). I am convinced that it is unsafe to send valuable stuff that way. Too many untrustworthy individuals are handling it, including people not even employed by the USPS (read airline baggage handlers). The stickers that the postal clerks put on the boxes that show insurance are a sure way to get a second look from some idiot. I have never personally had a problem with UPS or FEDEX.
Glad your 67 is safe at home....it's a beauty. They are one of my favorite S&Ws.
Oops...thought you said Black Rock...not Bedrock.

I wouldn't send anything that nice without a insuring for 4 x's what it's worth. Even then I'd P***ed Off if it got "Lost". You just can't replace an emotional attachment to something so nice.
Glad you have it back.......now....wanna sell it?

Deep sigh of relief. Would have been a tragedy to lose that one.
Looks like at least they cleaned it well before sending it back home!

No it's not for sale, I was really worried that it had been stolen in the mail and that made me remember how much I liked it and just how pissed I was over it not showing up in a timely manner.

Things are being shaken from the top to the bottom in the USPS just like the government. Glad you got it and better late than never.
