Engraved 44 Magnum info
I have a beautiful engraved 44 magnum with 6' barrel I know nothing about. Would love some info on it. The name on the engraver is griffin. It has a few gold animals on it. Bear wolf. And ivory grip.

Welcome to the forum!!
You will learn alot here. Someone will be along shortly to tell you about your revolver. The first thing they will ask is for some pics and a serial number to help with the vintage.

Pictures and a serial number are a must. Lots of us here will enjoy the pictures and the serial number will help in dating it.

Bear74, When one hears of a highly engraved gun with gold inlays of animals, ivory grips, and the word griffin, companies like Griffin and Howe come to mind and engravers such as Joseph Fugger. Pics and a serial number are a must though and measure the barrel from the cylinder face. Just some random thoughts....

I have a car and I won't reveal the make, model, VIN or year of production.
What can you tell me about it?

Not a lot to go on, but it does sound interesting for sure.
Good pics are needed.
The 'Griffin' as an engraver name and the hint of the lavish gold and ivory work makes you think of Griffin & Howe as a source of the work.
I'd take a closer look for the 'Howe' part of it first.
If not..
See if the 'Griffin' isn't perhaps 'Griffiths' .
Lee Griffiths,,a well known engraver and very capable of turning out a high art piece. I think he's in Utah, probably has a website.
He posts regularly on Steve Lindseys Engravers website IIRC.
Again, all guessing w/o any further info, VIN# or pics.

Should be a beautiful piece of artwork.
Phillipe Grifnee was quietly one of the finest engravers around. He died just this past spring, only in his mid to late 50's.

The N number is the serial. That's near the end of the 29-2 run, around 1980 give or take. No doubt the engraving is aftermarket but it sounds pretty fabulous. Really need photos to appreciate.
