Howdy,
I had the barrel fitting tools from years gone by and there on Gunbroker was a Behlert barrel and rib. I talked to the fellow (Nice man) and was told it was from a disassembled 65. Hmmmmm? I have a decent one and decided to sacrifice it to the PPC gun project.
I had about a week before the barrel arrived so I tuned and polished the action, fit an internal trigger stop, bobbed the hammer, tuned and polished some more.
When the barrel came it was an easy fit . I had to surface the front of the frame to get it to snug while indexed. I had to shorten the ejector rod and drill and tap one hole for the rib.
It went together pretty good with .006 B/C gap, looks pretty cool and is slicker than wet soap.
On the down side, the forcing cone took my go/no gauge a bit past flush. It is a little big and I'm not sure what it will shoot like, but it is not that bad and may not be a problem. I'll have to shoot it and see.
Sometimes I have more fun than I should being cheap!
Here is a pic.
Thanks
Mike
