Default Going to look at a couple Smith's tomorrow

A 19-2 in box, supposed to be LN
1 Pre 27 with 5" barrel. Says there is a little wear on sides of the barrel towards muzzle. not sure if there is a box with this one.

Anything I should look for on either of these? Can you shoot me a average price for these models and w, without box on the pre 27?

TIA

I'd check completed auctions on sites like GunBroker, that should show the high end of the market.

That Pre-27 could get pricey - take cash, plenty of cash.

If I could only buy one of these, I'd go with the N Frame Pre-27 since it's the harder gun of the two to find. It will either be a 4 screw gun, with the screw in the front of the trigger guard, or a 5 screw with a screw in the top of the sideplate. Also, look for the diamond around the grip screw. I guess it could have either magna or target grips from the factory. Good luck on your deal!

I'm biased towards N frames so I'd go with the 5'' 27. I got one a while back and just love it! Such a nice balance with that length.

If you can swing it however, get both. Old 19's in good shape are getting real hot right now price wise as with collector interest; if it is a good deal, grab it.
