S&W 17 vs Woodsman - I got both - pics included
One of my first girlfriends in high school asked me if I had ever been mesmerized. I didn't even know what the word meant but that was a long time ago. When I first saw these two handguns for sale I was totally mesmerized and couldn't decide which one I liked better so I ended up buying both of them. The pictures are of my recently acquired S&W 17-4 with 8-3/8" barrel and a Colt Woodsman 3rd Generation with a 4-1/2" barrel.
The other one is the model 18 no dash which I got about 3 months ago

You've got yourself some fine classics there! There will be more. I can tell you've got the beginnings of the addiction.

A nice M-19 would fit in there just fine, if I don't buy them all myself.

Nice. All of them. A solid foundation to what will undoubtedly be a great collection, as long as the money lasts. (Which I sincerely hope it does.)

I'm not really starting a collection, I just happened to run across these and since I have always wanted ('always' is a very long time, I am 72 years old) I sold some other things and got them.
I'm just having fun and trying to keep on keeping on. Thanks for the replies.

Well, yes, they are resting on a rock, but very carefully. Usually I just throw them down on the ground someplace when I am through shooting but this was a special occasion.

I got all my guns to use, and use hard but sometimes ....
I was at a range in Phoenix shooting next to someone with a nice blued revolver sitting directly on the concrete shooting bench in such a manner that end of the barrel was hanging off the bench allowing the corner of the bench to touch the side of the barrel. I couldn't stand it. At the next cease-fire I introduced myself and pointed out that I just couldn't stand to see it. Fortunately he went and got his pistol rug and put it in that.
I mean wow ......

Congratulations you got some real winners there and for me the 8 3/8 inch Model 17-4 should be a winner since mine shoots like a rifle.
17-4 with 8 3/8 inch barrel

I'd love to see a range report to see who shoots the best.
