Default Realistic Value M45

I'm sure this has been covered before, but need current pricing. Have a shot at a NIB 1978 Model 45--.22LR. In the correct C883xxx range. As new, original owner needs tax funds. He knows it's a rare bird. Says he will get back to me when he establishes a price.

I Don't keep current on these.

The only one I've ever seen in real life was at the last Tulsa Wanenmacher show a couple of weeks ago. It was in nice shape but no box. I believe it was priced at $1550.

Seller got back to me, Said he would take $ 2500, Is this over the top, or current ball park?

If truly nib that is well within the ballpark. The last one I saw for sale with box and about 98% went for 2700.00.
Good luck.

I had the chance to inspect it in person, It is truly mint condition. The seller is the original owner, and has never shot it. It has the original serial numbered box, No model number markings on the crane & correct ser. # range for 1978. I assume it is one of the 135 '78 guns.

About 5-6 years ago I found a 'vein' of these guns. I bought and sold 4 of them. I paid $500 apiece as the seller moved them to me one at a time. Two were NIB, two were near new, fired, no box. I sold the NIB guns for around $1250 ea. I sold one of the fired examples, and kept one for myself. As interesting as these guns are the idea of paying $2500 for one gives me a nose bleed.

LOL, as in a vein of gold;-)
The cheapest I can remember one of these going for was in the 1000.00 range but I didn't have the money.

I have to agree! But I was advised that one recently sold on GB for $ 3100, Maybe 5 years from now I will say " I could have bought one of these in 2012 for $ 2500"

I think this is a situation in which you have to decide if this is a "cost is no object must have it" or "like to have it and hope to make a profit someday" gun. Personally I see very few of the first kind and think the price here is too high, but if you think differently it sounds like a nice example.

One of my holy grail guns. I keep dreaming I will find one at an out of the way gun shop for $500. but never have.
I have only seen one in the last few years and it was $1800..I think $2500 puts it out of my price range but if you can afford it, I would jump on. How long before you will even see another one?

I guess I could afford it, but I really can't justify it.-- As the previous poster suggests, It's something I can live without, & don't know if the appreciation/investment factor applies in this case.

FYI, the guy that owned the Model 45 still has it - I was at a gun show just today and it was still in his case. It is now priced at $1850.
