Rescued Another One From The Streets, 15-3
I rescued another evil weapon from the mean streets, a Model 15-3. The nickel is not perfect but ain't too bad. It's got the target hammer and trigger and I have some target grips but I think I'll leave the Hogues on it for shooting. Serial# K881XXX, can anyone tell me approximate birthdate?

According to the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, the birthdate should be sometime close to the later part of 1969. Someone else may be able to give you a closer date. Nice looking revolver, I'm sure taking it to the range will be an enjoyable experience.

K848XXX is the first series shipped in '69, so I'd say spring/summer of that year.....ah, the summer of '69..........................oh, sorry, nice gun!

There needs to be a shelter somewhere for rescue guns. I'll volunteer my house!
Nice score by the way!

Beautiful 15-3.
I have to ask, is the nickel factory? Is there an N on the grip frame under the grips?
The lower side plate screw hole looks dished or has the wrong (flathead) screw in place. Just curious.
Thanks for sharing.

Yep, N on the frame. That is not a flat head screw like the one under the grip. Not sure why the photo looks that way.
