Default Model 14 pictures

I'm sure this has been done before, but how about some photos of Model 14s?
Here are some photos to get us going. I'd love to see yours.
Jack

Top: 14-4, 88K
Center: 14-4 19K
Bottom: 14-3 SAO 3K

This is the same revolver shown as the top gun in the first photo. I bought it brand new in 1982 (it letters to 1980). Everything is still with it.

Here's my 14-4, 8-3/8. picked it up late last summer, had some issues so I had to ship it back home to Springfield and haven't had a chance to shoot it since its return. Winter in Maine curtails my shooting these days. It never used to when I was younger! I'm looking forward to spring and trying it out, I bet its gonna be a tack driver.

Guys
Are my photos still invisible? I can see them fine, but I'm wondering about the comments that were left.
Thanks.

Very nice, Taroman.
The long tube gun is particularly striking. Myself, I've never owned one with the 8 3/8" barrel. Maybe one of these days . . .

Certainly, Bob! That one is very welcome. A beautiful gun. I will post a pre-14 tomorrow. Right now I have no photos of it, but will take one after church in the morning and get it up on the Forum.

K-38's are my favorite S&W's. Here's one from 1952:

I need to take a better picture of it, but my list of things to do seems to never get done

Of the few I own, I can shoot my 60's single-action only model the best. Someday I'll find a 14-5, and life will be good.

Someone posted a want to buy that I have, so the safe is staying closed right now. Try to find an old pic. Need to replace that set of grips, though.

Nice bunch of K38's gentlemen. Here's a -3 with TH/TT, and trying on Magnas for size. It currently has it's Targets on, as is thould be. I would also like to know about the originality of Chuck Jones' orange square on the Patridge sight for obvious reasons. I'm guessing S&W did not do that.

Guess I am late to the party. I brought along some of my favorite S&Ws.

Let's go oldest to newest shall we?

Pre-14 - K38 Heavy Masterpiece:

Model 14 - Red Post front sight (Letters):

Model 14-1:

Model 14-2 (Dayton gun)

14-3: (Letters as Single Action Only):

FYI - I am still looking for a real nice pre-14 narrow rib and a nice in original box 14-4 8 3/8" gun to round out my collection.

I bought the gun used but I'm pretty sure it was a factory option. It's not the only one I've seen, although it's one of the best ones I've seen. I'm sure you can understand being plastic and exposed like that, they can break or break off rather easily.

here's a close up.

Thanks, Chuck. I believe this was a factory option. What piqued my interest and prompted my question was that in the original photo, it looked round to me. This clears that up.
Thanks again.

I'm pretty sure my 14-3 is the one on the far right. Or, maybe it's the one on the left. Hell, I don't know.

This Model 14-3 was shipped to Anchorage, Alaska on August 24, 1973. It is a factory, Single Action Only. Unfortunately, I don't have the box.

It's factory. I posted a picture of a M14 in this thread which letters with one. I have a total of 3 Red post front sight guns. I am sure Chuck's will letter as well. Someone has posted a factory circular with it listed as an option. I have a Pre-27 and a Model 25 with one as well.

It is also my favorite S&W front sight. Once you shoot with one, all others pale by comparison.

This isn't my 14 it's my 17 but I had the factory install the red partridge sight back in the early eighties. It was a cataloged option back in those days.

Madmike
Nice post. I have never been able to get comfortable with finger grip stocks, but those are very good looking.
The K-22 is one of my favorite revolvers. I bought one new just after I returned to the World from 'Nam, and I still have it. It shows scars from the many years of carry and use, but it is still a great sidearm. I also have a respectable one liner that Roy says shipped in December, 1949 (yes, a late shipper). I hope someday to add another K-22 or so to the stable, but right now I'm trying to acquire at least one each of all the main K-38 variants from WWII to 1982. Of course, a few more prewar K Targets are also on the list of future acquisitions . . . There just is no end once you start collecting!
