Default Well, I Pulled The Trigger

Pun intended.

Disclaimer-This is not a "how did I do" post, I just thought I'd share my new toys

A month or so ago I posted about two N frame Smiths that I had a chance to buy. I am generally pretty decisive about my gun purchases, but on this one I was a mass of quivering indecision. I just couldn't make up my mind if I wanted to spend the money on what would likely become a couple of safe queens.

Over the Christmas~New Years week I made up my mind to go ahead and spring for them. What I bought (well, put on layaway) was a M29-2, 6 1/2" barrel serial #N440XXX (I can't remember the rest of the number) and a M57 no dash, 8 3/8" barrel serial #N439XXX (ditto on the memory).

Both are unfired, the 29 is missing the box, but the owner claims he has it and if he doesn't find it we will adjust the price. It has the faintest of turn lines, but except for that, it is as close to 100% as you can get.

The 57 has the case and all the goodies. You have to look hard to see the turn line and overall is just beautiful. I really wasn't looking for a .41 Magnum, but I just couldn't help my self.

I don't know if I paid too much for these ($1600 for both) as I usually buy guns that have been used and consequently pay a bit less for them.

These were just so nice I decided I just couldn't let them go.

Semi lousy cell phone pics: I didn't wipe them down before I took photos, but take my word for it, there is not a flaw on either.

29-2

57

Not going to find too many in that condition anymore. Enjoy and I think you did fine on the price too. No the long barrels are not as pricey, but presentation box, tools etc - it all adds up.

Happygratulations------Term used for obligatory salutations on a double gun purchase!! Very nice guns and I don't think you got hurt on the price. Be careful with transportation and storage in the presentation case.

Bought them too high? According to who? If you like them, want them, and can afford them, so what if bought them for a little more than someone else would have paid. They are great looking Smiths. Congrats!

In my opinion, that's a very nice score on a couple beautiful revolvers! Congratulations! I think you got some very nice looking target stocks as well.

I'm not too hot on the .44, but the .41 is magnificient.

I certainly don't think you paid too much. You got a couple
of very desirable and beautiful S&Ws in almost new condition at well below gun auction market prices! Can't do much better than that.
Congratulations and enjoy!!

Yea, Highpower. Those are two very nice big bore Smiths. A little pricey, maybe, but they are yours now. The condition on both is great! Thanks for the pictures.

That's one of the things I like about this forum, the understanding and caring that people show here.

That's one fine pair and I don't think you got stung. The way prices are going up, in a couple of years you'll be telling everybody about the bargain you got.

You did very well and the .44 box will be a bonus if the previous owner can find it. You gotta love those 29-2s with the 6 1/2 inch barrel.
