Default 10-6 help and advice

Hello all...

1st post over here in these parts. I am in the process or rebuilding my collection back up and have come across what I am being told is a model 10-6 I am waiting on the Serial #'s to check the MFG info but I am guessing and I may be off but the 10-6 would be from around the early 60's i am thinking He does not have any of the original box, papers etc, and it looks to have aftermarket grips as well. Can anyone tell me how hard the factory grips would be to come by? And does anyone know what the avg retail value of these 10-6 models is I know it would be higher if it had all the goodies with it. I will enclose the pics i have of it as well.

A Mod 10-6 would probably have originally had Magna style grips. They are readily available in a variety of conditions. Prices of grips would range from $25 to $65 depending on condition. Post a Want To Buy in that section of the Forum and I'm sure someone will be along to offer you a set.

An early -6 would have had diamond magnas,a later one would have non diamond magnas. Both are fairly easy to find.Even though I like the looks of the original stocks, they were designed for midgets.Adding a grip adapter or using target type stocks helps with the fit for a lot of us.

Thanks for the replies all. Any idea of a guesstimate on what the retail value of one of these 10-6 models would be?

Mod 10s are not especially valuable or collectable. Millions were produced. If it's in excellent condition, maybe $500 if they are hard to find in your area.

A more realistic value would be much closer to $250-300.
