Got a nice 18-3 today
Got a great deal on an 18-3 today. Here are some details and a few pictures.
Picked it up after lunch, gave it a quick cleaning and went out to one of the local ranges that I belong to. I really like this revolver. Locks up tight, shoots very straight and with the aftermarket grips feels great in my hands. Definitely a keeper!
I'm very pleased with the overall condition of it and we are going to look for the factory grips tomorrow.
Maybe some of you could help me out on when it was built.
Here are the numbers i found on it: 1ky 3760 then : 84210
J66. Comments/advice info, much appreciated..,

18-3 Update
Pulled off the target grip this morning and found the proper serial number and according to the information posted here on the forum in another post the gun was manufactured in 1971.
It doesn't have the TT&H, but the trigger has definitely been worked. Measured the single action pull yesterday and it's 3.4lbs. Very nice! I am a happy man!

The model 18 is one of my all time favorites. Congrats. The holster looks nice also. What are the particulars on that?

Thanks for all the positive comments everyone. It's a great shooter for sure. I did find the stock wood grips for it yesterday and have already installed them. The holster is a Bianchi and it fits the 18 perfect and is in great condition. I'm going to do a few little things to is soon, nothing major, just want to paint the top of the front sight red and put 2 white dots on the rear sight. My old eyes need some help!
I'll post up a few more pics once I get that done.

I've been looking for a nice shooter model 18 for some time now. They are few and far between around here. Your's is a good looking example. Enjoy it in good health!

Today seems like the day for Mod 18 (or 22 CM) posts. Must have been a dozen posts. Shows how popular they are, and how difficult to find when you are looking for one.

Great looking 18. We are looking forward to the pics with the new stocks and your paint job. I painted a few of my front sights too. Sure does help a lot.
