M65 and 67 followed me home this weekend.
Purchased a Model 67 this weekend for $525 at a local Pawn shop, they wanted $599 over the phone. I got it home started looking it over and realized it is a no dash model from 1972 according to SCSW with the stainless rear sight. The previous owner placed some plastic knockoff grips on it, so my search now is to find square butt grips. Also found a police trade in M65 with a pair of Hogue Mono's on it from the Arkansas Department of Corrections at another dealer for $335, I paid $235. It had The M65 has polished up pretty nice. Were these decent prices for the two. Pictures to come once I figure out how to download them.

I would say those are decent prices. The last 67-1 [ No box ] I saw a month ago was marked $629 + 7% tax. Don't know about the Model 65 but if you paid $235 I think you did OK.

Here is the model 65-4, it was a Department of Corrections piece, that has various scratches and nicks that I am buffing out.
I love the Hogue Monogrips. Anyone know of a good source for some K frame grips for that classic look?

I have some and have started on both of them, the M67 looks 50% better and the M65 photo was taken Saturday after I cleaned it. I will start on it tonight. How much Mother's do you apply and what are you applying it with and buffing it off with?

Forum member "VM" often has stocks for sale. He is great to deal with. Keep an eye on the classifieds. Your 67 appears to have Rogers stocks. You may not like the looks, but they fit most hands very well. I have a set that I use for range work. Try a set of Uncle Mike's boot stocks on those guns.

I have a M67-1 that came with Magna grips. It dates to about 1977. I have round butted it and use Ahrend boot grips. I have been thinking about selling the Magna's on the forum. Let me know if you are interested. I can e-mail photos. I just haven't figured out how to post photos to the list. I am not sure if your gun used the Diamond Magna's. Mine do not.
Best,
Rick

Just use a small amount at a time to get the results you want, just use some soft rags one to apply one to wipe with and it does wonders.

My 67 [no dash] came LNIB as a trade-in from Georgia Power Security. It's a bit later than yours [black sights] and had magnas on it.

YW, Just remember the more you polish the shiner it gets, if you like the nickel look you can make stainless steel look that way with a little heavy duty polishing, so take your time to get the affect you want, it will remove all those nasty scratches ect as well but go easy and it will look awesome.

If you looking for factory wood grips be prepared for sticker shock, the guns you can make deals on but grips I have found out are not cheap. If you don't need or want factory then there are a lot of choices for reasonable grips.Love your pistols, you don't find deals like that out west.

Thanks for the accolades, and the information on the grips. I have looked long and hard for the M67, I couldn't pass it up. As for the M65's, they are pretty common in Arkansas, usually a bit above $300. I will hit up a couple of gunshows in the coming weeks and check a couple of pawn shops I frequent on the weekends. I will be posting the family portrait of the K frames later.

Parker- more than likely both those guns came with magna grips, should be pretty easy to find period correct K frame magnas. You could even probably buy new style from S&W direct.
