Default Picked up another Model 17

Got this 17-2 with a TH and TT last week. Pistol is in great shape and I really like the TH and TT. Anyone know the DOB? Serial number is k7276xx.

1967 should be the year of Man. Nice looking one you have there. The front sight mod looks interesting.

Nice revolver! But as you know, almost all 17s are nice revolvers.

I'm thinking 1968 or 1969, but I don't have a close comparison so that's kind of an approximation.

Did they not come with pinned front sights from the factory?

I don't know the story on those orange sight additions but I have a Mod 14-2 with the same set-up.

I've seen other 6 inch K frame revolvers from that timeframe with the orange "block" attached to the front sight.

that is a very nice looking gun. I hesitate to ask what you paid because no matter, when I'm ready to buy, if it looks like that I'm just gonna pay the price and enjoy it. for the 17 I won't worry about bargains.

The red insert patridge blade was a factory option at that time through the early 80s. I have an 8 3/8" 17-3 from 1977 with that sight:

Default K-22 without orange sight??

I bought a K-22 in 1979 but it does not have the orange front site so I'm wondering what year mine is from. Can anyone tell me what year my K-22 is from? SN 25k3306.

Thanks I'm still new to all of this S&W jargon and all of the numbers and screws and what not. Guess this is the place to figure it all out.
