Default 19-2 2 1/2 big money

looking at GB last nite at a 19-2 2 1/2 grate shape with box, tools, etc. 40 min. to go & it's at $840. Go do something for a while and come back to look, It's at $3,200. It ended at 3,450. I can not belive it! Two bidders back & forth, The seller must be freaking out Who spends that much, are the -2s so rare. I'v got a -3 but I wish it was a -2

I call Bravo Sierra on that one. Sounds like shills-a-go-go.

A fool and his money are soon parted.
I've seen some silly bidding going on lately.

The guy who paid that much would probably freak out if he knew I paid only $500 OTD for this one two months ago . . .
Granted, it is a dash 3, but . . . who wants to pay $2950 to have the rear sight leaf screw in a different location???

I had that one on my watch list. That seller comes up with some real nice gems every now and again. I thought that one would go for a premium, but not that BIG of a premium.

That seller has some really nice guns for sale, and post lots of clear, large pics to show condition.
No secrets in what you are buying.
Someone just wanted it real bad.

Well, maybe it is a very special dash two like the one I own!

My frame is marked -2 but it has all the changes that came with the -3's.

Must have taken 2 years for that frame to get through the assembly line.

I would sell mine for about half what the GB one went for.

Do a search on CS-1's. One recently sold for $2490 The very clean, or hard to find revolvers are getting some SERIOUS respect. I am glad because my modest collection is worth more but bummed that there are a lot I will never own.

I am not sure that you can shill bid something up to stupid prices. Someone has to be willing to follow. Otherwise the shill bidder buys it. I start my auctions as he does - $0.01 start, no reserve, lots of pictures and let the market determine the price. I have seen some go crazy and others languish to the point of a huge bargain for someone (and a loss for me). I have never been able to predict which will fly and which will fall.

Well, I've seen a K792xxx number associated with a 19-3, so maybe it's the last 19-2?

Mine, that I mentioned yesterday has serial number K7930xx

so we are certainly talking near the end of the -2's.

Difference between -2 and -3:

• 19-3 (1967): Relocation of rear sight leaf screw.
o (1968): Delete diamond-insert grip.

Mine dates to 1968.

Near the end but there was quite the overlap of -2's and -3's.

K7920xx and K7923xx are -3s but K7958xx and K7970xx are still -2s.
