Default Sticky cylinder on 17-3

My 17-3, serial #18K467X has a cylinder that is hard to flip open. Not impossible, just takes a really hard push to open
it. Can someone tell me how to fix this?
This 17-3 revolver has target stocks, wide trigger and hammer.
It shoots like a dream

Is the ejector rod screwed in tight? If it loosens enough, the cylinder won't open at all.

Also check for debris under the ejector star. I've had this problem before with a K22 (22 shells are pretty dirty) and essentially solved it by holding the gun vertically when ejecting shells so that the crud is more likely to fall past the star.

The ejector rod is probably loose. it tightens turning to the left. If that's doesn't do it, use the right screwdriver and remove the lowest sideplate screw. That will allow you to take the cylinder and yoke off and clean the whole thing.

Thank you for your help. The ejector rod wasn't loose. I unscrewed
the entire ejector rod assembly. Wiped it down and put some
Breakfree on it. I cleaned under the star ejector (it wasn't really dirty).
When it was altogether again my problem was solved.
