Here's my one and only...it is a 1950 pre-15 (serial number K980xx) that I stumbled upon at a pawn shop (posted in a previous thread). It is my one and only pawn shop gem. The rosewood target stocks were on it when I purchased it.

That story is why I never do gun business in my home unless it's a trusted friend (and I usually don't sell to them) or family..and I usually don't sell to the either
I have heard of that happening more than once and decided to take that kind of business outside the home.
FT I am sorry for that crook that took advantage like that. That took some big dysfunctional brass ones to even consider it.

I began my association with the 15/67 on the LAPD, when I was issued a NIB M67 in the Academy. I shot it a lot, and not just for qualification. .38 wadcutters were free (most of the time) and the range was usually open. I bought my 67 from the city for $79.00 and change upon retirement and sent it back to S&W for a combat tune and bead-blast. It's a favorite that will always be around; I have an 18-3 that makes a nice companion to it on shooting forays. My 67 still wears the Pachmayrs I bought for it when I was an Academy recruit in '84.

These are very shootable and I generally use a 15 to start new shooters and ladies on after they have some 22 rounds with a 17.
One thing that gets me about the 15 is how accurate these S&W Model 15 revolvers tend to be.

I picked up this beauty yesterday for a song, it's a 1975 vintage and in excellent shape. These Model 15's are really cool and I am glad to add it to my small stable of K frames

This is my 15-2 from 1965. I'm starting to really appreciate these guns. I'd like a two inch version to go with it, but they seem harder to find.

I have just this one, but it's a beautiful example, shipped from the factory in May, 1971.

I picked this Combat Masterpiece up last Friday. It's not stamped as a Model 15, but its S/N K3312XX makes it a gun shipped in 1958 and one that should've had the Model 15 stamped on it per the SCSW. I've been told that that's not an unusual occurrence.

This gun left the factory in 1955, May 20th to be exact and was shipped to the Gitlin Co. in Hartford, Ct. from there it made it's way west. Actually, since it left the factory before '61 it doesn't belong in this section.

Here's a 67-1. Has some minor scratches that look like it was carried in a holster. But it had no burn marks on the top strap or at the end of the cylinder like it had never been fired. Well, that 'newness' was gone after the first couple hundred rounds!
There's a model 15-2 in that herd somewhere with the smoothest trigger ever!

I have put it back to work. It is a great shooter and now has Hogue Monogrips on it. It stays loaded w/ 125 gr. Golden Sabers and two speedloaders are nearby. It conceals very well in an IWB holster.

That would be my "birth month gun." I had a 38 CM made in 53, and a 22 CM made in 51 at different times, but never had anything made in 52. Both of those are gone now.
I've only got one 15 now. A well worn, -2 with Herretts Shooting Star grips.
