Sorry, that's not a medium frame .357 Model 19.
It's a J frame (small), probably a five shot .38 Special.

I'd say 1969
Welcome aboard
Don't think that is a Model 19 in .357
J frame .38 special Model 36 - Chiefs Special? I only have one J frame, so not my area?

While the instruction sheet is for a Model 19, your revolver is a J Frame Chief's Special with square butt. Model 36, 38 Special caliber. Just a guess, but 1969 seems close as to build date.

Open the cylinder and see what if any numbers are there. That is not a 19 as others have stated. It does look like a Chief to me.

I'm not sure how you can be confused. The manual may say .357 Magnum, but if you will look on the barrel of the gun you will see .38 S&W Special. The manual don't go with that gun.
It's Model 36 Chiefs Special 5 shot. Enjoy your new gun.

Thank you all,
It does say .38 on the barrel and mod 36 inside the revolver, yes obvious. I didnt even look at the barrel I was just excited and wondered how old it was. My bad I was going off the info sheet provided. Is there a way to get the correct information sheet for this gun?
At least I was right about it being older than me.... (only by 2 years)
thank you again

You could post in the Wanted To Buy section. It shouldn't be hard to find one.
