Default Recognize this Model 36 custom grip?

I just purchased a 1972 Chiefs Special with less than 100 rounds through it (been kept in safe for 35 years) that was briefly a backup gun for a Miami detective who became a firearms instructor and no longer needed to carry it. Like many of us oldtimers he didn't save the box or even the factory grips. His neighbor is helping him sell off guns since a stroke so I didn't actually get to speak with him. Anybody recognize these? No identifying marks. Just interested, will probably put some more grips on it anyway.

Any recommendations for other grips? Would like to increase its value but will carry from time to time as my new "dress gun."

Those are vintage Herrett's stocks, an early version of the model called "Shooting Stars" which I believe evolved from the "Detective" model in the 1960s.

Note yours have the Detective-style checkering but the Shooting Stars type scallop at the top. Nice stocks, I would hold onto them.

I don't think there is anything wrong with those Herrett's. If you don't want them put them on the For sale section.

My son has a Model 60 that came with grips like that.
They help it be one of the best-shooting snubnoses we've used.
