Is it factory new (hard to tell with the distant photos), mechanically sound, accessories with the box?

I would say $650 is a good price. The box in the photo has been relined, as the original ones of this type were blue if I recall correctly. Enjoy!

I have one just like it shipped 12/1975. My case needs to be relined, and I would not sell it at that price. Seems a good price to me.

Paid 600$ for a 8 3/8 nickle Model 57 last fall, with no box/papers etc. Sounds like a good deal to me.

Thanks guys, this will be my first smith and Wesson wheelgun and my first 44, in fact I never shot a 44, Is it as fun as they say? I reload but still looking for some 44 sp, or mag brass. If anyone has some I would like to buy some, thanks. And 1975 I was born in oct of 75 so your gun could be older than me

Default Smith and Wesson model 29-2 nickel plated 8⅜ inch Value

I always have a great experience when I am firing any of my Model 29s. However, it does have a very strong recoil.

From my own personal experiences, I can also tell you that every one on the firing line will always know that you're there!!

Smith and Wessons are great revolvers! Enjoy your Model 29!

When I was younger (in my teens and 20's), shooting big bore guns with enough wallop to stop a charging buffalo was considered "fun" by me and my buddies. However, as I have aged (in my late 40's now), I have found myself having much more "fun" with much lighter loads. I almost never shoot my 44 Mags (although I have a small collection of them that I appreciate greatly) and when I shoot my 357's, they get a steady diet of 38 specials. I also now love to shoot the 22's. They are accurate, RELATIVELY cheap to shoot and have almost NO recoil. Call me a wimp, but the less recoil the better at this stage in my life...
