Help me pick a holster for this gun
I am looking for an OWB holster for this gun. I shot 60 rounds through it today then cleaned and waxed it right before the photo. It is a 10-5 with a 3" barrel that was one of the Aussie police trade-ins that Bud's recently had for sale. What do you suggest for a 3" K-frame holster, for strong side OWB carry?

I use a DeSantis for my 3" HB S&W 64 and 65's and my snubbie 66. This rides high, is extremely secure, hugs the body tight. If you are into gunfighting, this rig will get you killed.
Holster on the left came with my 64. It is a PWL (Price Western Leather). The holster on the right is another DeSantis, I own two of this design.

I like that DeSantis, ColbyBruce. Where did you purchase them? I'm having a bear of a time trying to find them in stock anywhere.
ETA I found they were back-ordered for only 5-7 business days at LA Police Gear, so I went ahead and put my order in. Thanks ColbyBruce!

A classic smith deserves a classic holster. El Paso Saddlery, 1920 " Tom Threeperson's ", with floral carving. Sweet.

I am happy with my Bianchi Cyclone for my 3" M65. It can be worn weak-side cross draw or strong-side forward cant.

When I carried a K-frame three inch on duty I used a Safariland 29 Lined special ordered with a 2 1/4" belt loop. Hard to find today, even on eBay. You might look at Tex Shoemaker's sight. Their TB (thumb break) holster is made to order so you can specify belt loop and length. Great products and super service.

Waywatcher, I bought both of those DeSantis holsters used, off this forum. I try to buy used gunleather due to the cost.

I carried a four-inch M-64 for a time in a Bianchi Shadow. No one ever spotted it under a short jacket. That holster later also worked well with my M-66.
In normal uniform, I wore a Bianchi Model 5BHL or a Safariland M-29, both black basketweave. I am very fond of both. Similar holsters from El Paso Saddlery are also very nice, but mine are dark tan and I had to wear black at work.

How will the holster get one killed?

I think it was a bit of a winking reference to "Old West" style gunfighting, i.e., the need for a low-slung, loosely-held rig for quickdraw.
I don't think ColbyBruce is saying this holster will get you killed for modern, defensive concealed carry -- quite the contrary.
