Default It just fell in my lap

I've been on a self-imposed gun buying moratorium, but I couldn't pass up this deal. I was talking to an acquaintance the other day and the subject turned to guns. He said he had a Smith .45 that he was going to sell because he just didn't want to pay the high cost of ammo for it any more. I asked him if it was in good shape and he said yes. I said I would possibly be interested. Went by his house yesterday to look at it. I've gotten pretty good over the years at hiding my interest in something I really like,so I told him I really didn't NEED it,but I'd take it if the price was right. He said $650 and I countered with $550. We settled on $600. No box or docs and the wrong grips, but I'm not complaining. Oh,it's a 25-5.

Very "straight business " looking. Looks like you got a pair of early coke bottle grips with it. Nice.

I'm been thinning my herd of S&W as I was up to 37 by selling 16 of my S&W revolvers but I still managed to buy 5 new to me guns in the process. So congratulations on stepping up and buying something you wanted.

Those "wrong grips" grips are quite righteous.

Darn, it's a shame you had to pay so much for that old beat up piece. So you won't feel too bad, I'll give you your money back and even pay for the shipping.

Don't let them other guys try and cheat you out of them wrong grips. Tell you what, I'll trade you a pair of the right ones for them even swap. Heck, I'll even pay the shipping both ways. Them other guys throwing money at you for them only want to lock them away in their vast personal collections where they will never see the light of day again.... Also I need them for the .44 mag. I have that came with the wrong grips on it.

Well there goes the moratorium! I would have done the same. My guess is you could double your money on that one.

Well, of course that broke the moratorium. For $600, who could pass that beauty up? Not me, that's for sure!
