model 66 owners manual?
Sorry if this is a repeat ? , but I am looking for any manual type info on a 66 no dash, mine - serial#9K51405, I picked up recently, and cannot find info. No box, no papers , no screw driver B-)
Anybody have a lead on some papers about the gun?
It shoots good and specs out good with gunsmith, but getting light hits. Main spring has about 1/2 turn in left.
My early posts and pictures were posted a few weeks ago.
Great gun to me, has a real home feel to it. Need a 64 for the other hand.

Tighten the strain screw in all the way. This should help with the light primer strikes. As far a manual, there is a gentleman who advertises reproduction manuals on GunBroker. I have ordered his products and have been very impressed with the quality.

If you send me your address in an E Mail I will make a copy of mine and send it to you. I bought my 66 in 1972 or 73.

Strain screws are supposed to be tightened all the way down all the time. If you don't, they will back out making failure to fire more likely. The strain screw is not a "kitchen table gunsmith trigger job."
As to the papers and screwdriver packet you seek, put a WTB in the classified section of this forum and search ebay and other places.

I had the same experience messing with the strain screw on my 66 years ago. Leave it cranked down all the way. Get a trigger job done, or dry fire with snap caps if you want to smooth out the action.

I jumped to GB before rechecking back in here and got hooked into completing my winning GB bid, no bid retract options. It's a $28 lesson learned. Thanks to you and John for your offers, and info.

Should i remove the screw, and use thread locker (medium) before i crank it down? I found it out out over 2 turns when checking it for the first time. Gunsmith had warned me about this possibility.
Thanks for the tips to misc S&W fun stuff. Didn't think they would be available, I was being a SAss. I had read here they are rarely found in preowned S&W guns sales.

You are a gentleman and a scholar. The original manual copy is great and the 3rd party technical information articles are priceless to me.
Thanks Again

does anyone knows whats the link to s&w web page, where you can get information, or a letter of authenticity. I remember I read it in this forum, but I dont know exactly.
you send your serial number, and specification of your revolver, you make a payment, and s&w send you a shipment with your letter of authenticity.
does anybody knows something?
