Default Unusual Chequered target stocks

I have seen a gun with ”S&W Chequered target stocks” that have scrolling type cuts or engraving on the normally smooth area around the chequered pattern.
Anyone know if S&W issued like this or is it aftermarket whittling?
Regardless of the manufacture they actually look alright.
Sorry for the pixelated picture it’s the best I could get.

I'm pretty sure that is aftermarket.

Thanks, I’m pretty sure it’s after market as well, however with S&W you just never know.

I am into old woodworking hand tools. Several years ago I picked up a nice Stanley hand plane from just after the turn of the century. It has some really nice carving added to the tote. I love to see well done embellishments to older tools.
