Holster for Model 57
I recently acquired a Model 57 .41 Magnum with 4 inch barrel. I am looking for a good leather holster for it. As this is an older model, the manufactures don't have this on their lists of models that a particular holster will fit.
What is a modern S&W revolver about the same size as a Model 57 that I can use as a guide?

Two I can think of would be the Simply Rugged Pancake and the DeSantis Speed Scabbard.
Has ears which protect clothes from the rear sight blade and hammper spur..

Galco leather is also another great choice.

If you have an old 57 the odds are it was carried in an old El Paso Saddlery holster. The Tom Threepersons works particularly well with the big 4" N-frames.

You can go with a Bianchi 5BL or a Hunter like I did in 1962.

Bianchi lined large frame or Safariland (no longer made) large frame lined holster are good examples. I'm sure you would be happy with either one.

John Bianchi sold this holster business long ago too. He now specializes in western holster rigs from Mexico, I believe. I'm not sure who's marketing them now?

Try Lobo Gunleather...made by a forum member. Do a search. I've got two on order, one for a 6.5" 657 and one for a 4" 629.
