Default Model 10-8, Nickel

I stopped by my local pawn shop today and after exchanging plesantries with owner, he handed me K frame to inspect. It is a Model 10-8 with a nickel finish in better than 94% condition with the original grips.

This one wears a pinned, heavy barrel and has a serial number of 3D99XXX. I belive that is was produced between 78-79. It came with a old Hunter holster, in very good condition as well.

I traded him three pictures of Ben Franklin for the quoted "out the door price" and I am still smiling! A nickel finish is not my first choice but, I will get over that "flaw".

After acquiring this revolver, I suddenly have an urge for barbecue ribs and a side order of stag grips!

Is that normal?

I have a nickel 10-8 a friend gave me when he was at the end of his shooting days. About in the same condition as yours. t has the smoothest action of all of my S&W wheelguns.

I had time to perform a more through clean up on the 10-8 last night. When I pulled the grip panels off, I was pleased to discover that they were numbered to the revolver.

Although I have shot my K frames and many others, I can't wait to see what this one is capable of on a B1 target!

Great looking gun with really nice PC stocks. And a good price to boot.

Nice find and I bet you are proud of that gun. Good picture.

Do you print your own pictures of Ben Franklin?
