Great looking gun! I really like the fixed sight n-frames.

Beautiful revolver and the wood on the right grip looks pretty fancy.

I would be remiss if I didn't thank "tennexplorer" (Burt) for this beauty. He's right here in memphis and thought enough of me to offer it to me. I wish I knew more about the model marked guns. From what I've been able to tell there were VERY few made. Probably less than 200. After searching this forum I can only find mention of two in members hands. I do plan on shooting it (Burt did). I just have to.
The grain in those grips really caught my attention. I like the condition of the gun, much better than most in my possession.
So, I'd love to hear of any of ya'll that know of any of these model marked 22's out there.

Roger

Roger:
I have one that is 40 digits away from yours that was shipped in February of 1966 to NY. Has a letter of provenance from a relative of Patton, supposedly was carried in Viet Nam, Arab/Israeli War of 1967 and in Rhodesia. Mine has a good bit of wear and isn't as nice looking as yours. I also obtained it from Memphis, TN.

I feel lucky to have a 99% pre-26 that seemed to be hard to find. You're gun is really nice, kinda like finding a needle in a hay stack. The 5 1/2" bbl looks good and the whole gun is in great shape. Sweet, Larry

Please enlighten me. The SCSW says that the model was made from 1958-1963. Do you suppose that the gun sat in the S&W inventory until 1966 because of lack of interest in this model, hence the limited production?

Default Another Model Marked 22

I have Model 22 serial number S192594, kissing cousin to yours, but look at the difference in ship dates. Mine hasn't been shot much either and is in really nice condition. It was displayed at the Tucson SWCA show 3 years ago along with companion Model Marked 20 and Model 21. Love the Model Marked Fixed sight N Frames!
