I just recently aquired an older smith and wesson revolver.I want to refinish it professionally, its chrome.about 6 inch barrel.
the serial # is k 239555, the number is located at the butt of the gun and inside the frame. all the screws are flate head.
can anyone help me? I dont want to buy a book to lookup one gun.
Functionally solid but the chrome is worn its not astecally pleasing,looks like 60s ?

Welcome! You likely have a K-38 Masterpiece that shipped in 1955; after 1957 the same basic gun was called the model 14. These are fairly uncommon in factory nickel, so if it is original and relatively nice you may not wish to refinish it, as it would lose its value to a collector. It may have also been refinished. Photos here would help. Hope this is helpful.
