Default Model 37 w/shrouded hammer

A friend has a stamped model 37 that has a shrouded hammer like the model 38. Was this a mistake at S&W or were some 37's made with a shrouded hammer? I also saw one listed on Armslist.com.

Most likely a simple mis-stamp of the frame, a semi-common finding.
