Cracked Frame Model 12-2
I didn't notice this hairline fracture until I brought the revolver home and gave it a good cleaning. I thought I had checked it out pretty good. The LGS I do business with was kind enough to accept the return. I've learned a valuable lesson here on what to inspect on aluminum frame revolvers.

Wow... I had to look 2 or 3 times at the pic to finally see that... kudos to the stand up LGS... many would just hid behind the "as is" disclaimer usually put on used gun sales.

It is hard to see which explains why I didn't see it in the shop. In fact I probably wouldn't have noticed it at all until I started reading some previous posts about this model. But once you see it, well...its there.

I also bought a 12-2 about 6 years ago at my local shooting range. I looked at it as close as I could there, and did not see the crack until I got it home in good light. The dealer laughed when I brought it back, he said at least 10 or 12 regular customers looked at it and about 4 employees, and nobody saw it.
It took me another year to find another snub 12

And another one bites the dust!
There's gotta be a fix for that. How about heliarc-welding the crack?
