Default Found my 10-5 Snubby

I made up my mind I wanted a 10-5 2incher for my carry gun. I have a square butt Nickel 10-5 4 inch for my house gun and wanted a twin with a short barrel for my carry. I was amazed that the snubs are so expensive. Most nice ones were running at least $500 and some way more. It didn't take more than a few hours of internet search before I found a Blue in great condition. Asking price is $425. I thought that was a good deal. Even better is that he lives only two hours from me, saving probably $75 in shipping and FFL fees. He agreed to meet me halfway, saving me two hours of driving, but only if I paid his asking price. Fair enough. I'm going to meet him the day after Christmas as both of us are busy until then.
I'll post some pics when I get it. Just wanted to share my good news.

Outstanding! Congratulations on the find!

Many years ago, when I bought my very first off-duty handgun, I chose was a brand-new, nickel-plated 2" Model 10.

Great - should look something like this (except this is a round butt)

This.

I shot the 10-5 snub in the pic above for the first time today.

Oh, it is sweet. It thinks it's a 15-3 4".
Great shooter.
That larger frame and grip makes it a lot easier and more comfortable to shoot, than a J frame.
After shooting them today, I'd sell my 36, if it wasn't such a great pocket-carry gun.

Never sell a J-frame because something larger shoots more easily. In fact, never, ever sell a J-frame.

Nah. I won't sell it. It's a perfect pocket pal.

For SD use, the stock magnas are fine.
For range use, I have some Sile stocks that look like a modified version of Charter Arms Bulldog .44 stocks, but with a thumb rest carved into the top of each stock.
Not a problem carrying concealed in a holster, but a bit big for pocket use.

My problems with the stock, um...stocks, are that they are awfully skinny, and also they encourage a really high hold. The high hold is comfortable but causes the hammer spur to hit my big, meaty, paw.
A T-grip would fix that and not affect carry. I may get one from BK for carry, and use the bigger stocks for extended range sessions.

I put a pair of factory J frame target stocks on my 31-1 and they are very comfortable.
I may try them on the 36. They just look funny on it, because of their length.
I wish Smith had offered target stocks for the square butt J that didn't extend below the bottom of the grip frame.

I may have to take up grip making, to get all the different revolver stocks I want.

I think my 10-5 snub may warrant a pair of Grashorn stocks.

Maybe some "no bark" elk, for that ivory look.

I wish I could find bone stocks for my revolvers.
