Is there a question in there? I thought you were going to ask for a value but it didn't come through!

$20 to $40, depending on condition; with papers, docs, and tools, maybe much more...

A model 37 with a D serial number? I don't think so.

It's a box, and boxes are worthless to some people and worth everything to some people. I saw a guy give $250 extra for a (old production) Ruger Red Label shotgun, because it had the box with all the papers, once. "That's a $750 shotgun, but you have the box?! I'll give you $1,000!" I wonder what that guy's shotgun is worth, now that Ruger is making them again?

Collectors are sometimes crazy, so you never know what something is "worth" until it sells at auction. What it's worth today - may be different next week - as well.

Sorry! I didn't answer your question.

The s/n area on the two model 36 box end labels I have each have trhree boxes. One with "SER.NO." then the J, the next box with three digits, and the third box with another three digits (see below). So your description sounds like a D prefix serial number which shold be a k-frame. A photo of the box-end label would help with this issue, and a photo of the box condition would help with figuring out the value.

To me, the box is worth ZERO unless it comes with the number matching hardware. I would give $5 for one and try to sell it.
