Finally Got my Highway Patrolman! New Pics added
Thanks to a fellow forum member I now own this beautiful model 28-2. This model has always been one of my favorites and although it took me a while to bring one home, it's here to stay!
Here are a couple of pic's!

Great pick-up and it looks to be in great shape.
Those HP's are just the ticket.
Outstanding shooters. Let us know how it shoots
for you.

Never seen an HP I didn't like and yours is a great example of the -2. With a bit of practice, the 4" barrel is capable of pretty good target work and some 'cowboy' loads in 38 spcl make for a soft shooter in that big N frame.
Below is Captain America (my 4 year old grand son and his dad) shooting some 130 gr cast bullets, doing about 700 FPS, out of the 28-1

Good for you! Gotta love a M28. Now, if I could just find a 5".
(I know that wasn't offered, but it would have been darn near PERFECT)

Nice gun, I got a nice one and had to go buy a worn one to have something to carry in the field. You can't go wrong with one except maybe for the price they go for anymore.

M28
My pappy carried a 28 for years from '69 to the early '80's when the PD started issuing Mod 66's. He still has it and chides that it was a better club than the 66. Of course that was back when it was an acceptable use of force to whack-a-perp on the melon with your sidearm.
My brother has a 6" 28 from a retired Calif. sheriffs deputy. Fine wheelguns & can shoot magnums all day w/o beating up the shooter.

That's a beauty and the smooth targets really make them shine in my opinion.

I am green with envy. Those are totally beautiful. Like a man once told me - if you wear a nice suit the shoes should be nice. I don't think your 28 could look any better.

Yep Opaul, that is an excellent example of the 28-2. Anyone would be proud to own that one. They don't get much better. It will be hard to shoot it (putting wear on it) I love shooting mine. Now a 6" would really make a fine pair.
Be careful or you will end up like me!! All -2's except the second from the top. It is a very early first year HP., SN: S 111760.

VERY nice M28-2! I just picked up one that could be its' twin last month...no turn line and original box, etc. Including my other 4in and my 6in 'S' HP, plus the two I gave my grand sons, that makes 5 for me and them thus far. I like plenty other S&Ws, but I gotta admit I am a sucker for a solid M28.

I am quite happy for you. I was holding to buy a 6" -2 today but we have been getting socked in with freezing rain in Little Rock. Has a faint line and a little blue wear at the end of the barrel from a holster. Can't wait, I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve!
