Default Help with Values/age

I've got a couple of revolvers that were given to me years ago and was hoping someone could help me out with age and approximate value.

The first is a Stainless .357Mag Model 66 w/4" barrell, sn 4K61xxx

The 2nd is a Blued .22lr Model 17-3 w/6" barrell, sn 8K8xx

I have the original boxes for both, and they both have the original wood(walnut?) grips. The .22 also has what appears to be the original paperwork in the box.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Don't have my book here at work so I can't date the guns. It's so hard to put a dollar figure on any handgun without putting your hands on it. Round numbers with a big range the 66 depending the condition $500 on the low to $750 or more depending on your auidence. The 17-3 Again depending on condition $600- $800. All of these number are just guessing. If you could post some pictures it would help. The condition is everything.

The model 66 looks to have shipped in 1974 and the 17-3 in 1975. Agree with Bob's value estimates, depending on condition. If you can, be sure to give a big thanks to whomever gave them to you . Hope this is helpful.

Here are some pictures of both. The 66 was carried quite a bit while hunting and fishing, and the grips show the wear from that. The 17-3 has seen very little use.

Pictures will really help others. That 66 is a no dash and an early one at that with the all stainless rear sight, which is a pain, but worth more. I could see $600 with box for the 66 and more for the 17 - that looks fantastic.

What part of the country are you in? That can move values a couple hundred bucks sometimes.

Any decent Smith is worth $500 these days in a K frame...

Thanks for all the info. I'm in Alaska, not sure if that is a plus or minus where value is concerned. I looked through the box the 17 came in and actually found the original receipt. It was purchased by a family friend at the Montgomery Wards in Valdez, AK. in 1976. I inherited it when my dad passed in '98.
The 66 was given to my mother by the same family friend when we moved to Anchorage after folks got divorced. It was supposed to be for protection but was to much gun for her.
I'll come back here if I decide to sell either one, but for now I think I'll keep them both.
Thanks again for the info.
