Pretty good day at the auction house - Model 10-6
I won in today's Rock Island Auction, this Model 10-6. Based on the serial number it is a 1962. I got it for $316 after commission. I may have overpaid a bit, but think I'm going to be happy with it. I suspect it's better looking than the pictures - these were the auction photos. I happen to have a spare set of diamond magnas that I think will fit, and look better than the ugly rubber grips.
(I also was lucky in another auction today and got an old Remington R51 and a 1903 Colt)

Nice gun, your price wasn't outrageous, at least not here.
I'd sure take your own advise and change out those grips though. There's something about putting contemporary rubber grips on a nice vintage revolver: it just looks wrong, doesn't it?! Plus, you really don't need them with the cartridges you'll be using.
Although....I did put a set of Hogue grippers on my 10-5 when I was shooting a few high velocity rounds. But I put the magnas back on as soon as I got home!

You might try shooting it with those grips and see how it feels. You may find them very comfortable.
Regarding what you paid:
I would certainly pay that price for it. That may actually be a little below average.

That price should good to me. I just paid $369 for a 4” 10-7 in December. And, YES, those recycled condoms masquerading as grips must go.

Thanks for the mental image, Twiki. I think I'll wear gloves when I remove the grips!

I think you got a pretty descent deal on that classic.
