Great Week For Smith & Wessons
I've been out of town for a couple of weeks and managed to find a Model 10-5 at a local gun show (see earlier post "Gun Show Model 10-5"). I'm back in town for the weekend and stopped by my favorite LGS and found a couple of nice revolvers in the case. I traded an AR I had no longer had a use for and brought home a Model 10-6 and a Model 65 four-inch, round butt. Both Model 10 stocks number to the guns and I have a set of round butt stocks off of a Model 13 I no longer have, to put on the Model 65. The Model 27-2 in the photo is one I traded off a while ago and just got it back in another trade. Some weeks can be really good Here is a photo of the group.
far left 27-2, six-inch
first 10-5, five-inch
second 10-6, four-inch
third 65-4, four-inch

Yes you did.
That is a good week in anybodies book. Congratulations on all four guns. But it looks like it is a good thing you traded back into the 27-2. Some dirty dog stole the back sights off of three of these guns. JA

attn Fredo Batali
Fredo, I think you would have loved being at our range that week back in the 70s when the Bankers Trust gun custodian brought in that box of 40 or so 95%+ Model 10's to sell to us (for $10 each, BTW). BT was ending retail banking and their security arm.
While entering the serials in the book, we inspected each gun as though it were the Cullinan diamond. The action on every one was perfect. There's some thing about a 10.
P.S. We sold the guns to license holders for $25 each. Made a nice profit.

Sometimes it pays to let your traps soak for a while, doesn't it Fredo?
Nice score.

As y'all know from a previous post, I had beeen looking for a nice Model 10 when a really nice Model 64 no dash showed up at the same shop. I brought that one home and now having found the five-inch 10-5 and the four-inch 10-6 I'm looking for a nice Model 10 snubby and a six-inch. Seems like it never ends. kaaskop49, a $25.00 Model 10 would have certinaly cranked my tractor I wish I could have been there.
