Nice gun!
That is near perfection to me. My small collection lacks a nice nickel plated gun. And a nickel 27-2 would my first choice to fix my problem. Congratulations. I am very jealous. JA

I'll take a stab at pricing. If its original finish in the condition of geraldw 321's four incher, I'd say if you can find one for $1000. or under best grab it before its gone.

A 4 inch nickel 27-2 is a pretty scarce bird. Smith standardized on their barrel lengths around 1978 or 9 and went to the 27-3 within a few years. It seems a lot of the 4 inch 27-2s were in nickel. I have never seen a 4 inch barrel 27-2 or -3 and I have an eye for the 27s. You might want to do a lot of research before you shoot or carry that one. I suspect it would sell for more than you have in it.

I've seen way more nickel 4" 27-2's than blue. I got this beater from a dentist that carried it into the Orlando show in a brown paper bag. Joe

attn pharmer
Perhaps my eyes are too weak, but is that what you call a BEATER?? Good score.
P.S. I own numerous modern-day Smiths. I enjoy them, carry them, there is nothing wrong with them. However, there is even less wrong with a 27 like that of the OP.

"probably not going to fire this one "
That's the part I never understand.
