I just bought a 31-1 also.

Look on ammoseek.com. You will find 20+ places with ammo in stock. Looks like it's readily available through mail order -- and fairly inexpensive.

I checked my largest LGS and all they had was 32 ACP which I think will also work -- but they wanted too much money for it.

SCSW edition 3 lists serial number H00001-H30001 for 1969-70. These are modern, strong firearms and can handle current production ammo.

As J-frame shooters go (in 32 S&W L) you have what is about the cream of the crop. Georgia Arms still has 32 S&W L ammo from time to time and they are my preferred source of loaded ammo, but I prefer to handload for mine. I use either cast or swaged bullets in the 95-100 gr range and a cat sneeze load of Bullseye™. I don't know how long the brass lasts because I've never worn any out!

If you look above surrounding the banner, you will see a heading labeled "User CP", click on that and to the right you will see "Edit Details", click on that and scroll down until you see the area where you can post the level of your NRA membership.
