The pictures below show different frame and yoke assembly numbers for a 25-2 vintage 1979-80. Has anyone else seen this?
Were revolvers shipped with mismatched assembly numbers or does this always indicate a later change?
Were assembly numbers used by S&W sequenced in order by frame size? These assembly numbers are exactly 700 numbers off. Could that indicate factory assembly at the same time?
Could the B13 be an inspector's mark verifying the building of a mismatch or be coincidentally found on both pieces matched up by someone after shipment?
Thanks for any info.
