Sounds like you found something you really liked. Are you happy with it? That's what counts. Models 19 and 66 snubbies are pretty popular, and the prices aren't going down. It's nice to find one at a bargain price, but those deals are hard to come by. You have a nice revolver. Enjoy it.

I like it. As far as whether or not you paid too much, its worth whatever someone is willing to pay. Today it was worth $650.
Congrats. Looks like a great gun.

Default 19-4

Here in the south the 19 models are hard to find, and are bring top dollar, and the pined and recessed ones are getting harded to get also.

Personally, I think you got that at the median market price at the present time. You did not get a bargain, but you did not over pay (or buy too early as some would have it). These 2 1/2" Combat Magnums are justly popular, and any of them in the dash 3 and dash 4 variants is a decent buy at $650. I got lucky and picked one up for $525 OTD about a year ago. I thought that was an excellent deal. It quickly became one of my favorites.
Here's a photo. Notice that my 19-3 lacks the red ramp.

Here in SC, that would be considered a good price.

I think it's a pretty good price based on my track of the model, about where JP@AK put it. In any case, average prices seem to be increasing and the number for sale decreasing. You can see the price trend is pushing on $700. I'm pretty sure you won't lose money if and when you decided to sell it. Congratulations on your purchase.

5wire you are amazing. Thanks for your postings. Simmitt you will have that snubbie from now on. I bet you will be able to put $650 together again. I have a 19-3 snubbie I woudn't trade. Had it several years along with a 6 inch 19-3. Just can't beat a 19. Congratulations.

i got mint 19-3 a while back for the same so you're in the ballpark. those 2.5" 19's are about the handiest revolver around. i want to pick up a couple more one of these days to keep around for my boys.
