Default New Model 19-2

I just found this M19-2 in a local gun store. I have been looking for a decent M19 for a while now and I was thrilled to be able to acquire this one. Serial number K778826 dates it to late 1967, so it probably shipped sometime in 1968. The gun is in nearly unfired condition and I would say it rates in 99%+ condition.

I bought it from the original owner and he says that he shot six rounds through it and then put it away for the next 38 years. He bought it new, just as you see it with target hammer and trigger. Somewhere along the line the original stocks were replaced with these targets.

Does anyone know who made those stocks? Apparently not S&W as there is no medallion, but they are very nice looking just the same. Nice 19-2. Now I know what a 99 percenter looks like. That means mine is about 80%.

I wish I knew who made them. I got a chance to talk to the owner to ask if he still had the original stocks, but at 90 years old, he couldn't remember where he put them.

Edited to add; I took them off and they are stamped "Eagle Grips"
